Baseball Bliss

The smell of the freshly cut grass. The sound of the crack of a bat and cheers. The sight of a smile from ear to ear as he slides into the bag. "You're safe!"

Nothing beats a day at the ball park, especially when it's your son playing!

This is Andrew's first year playing baseball and he loves it!

Andrew is a great little ball player! He has hit the ball every time he has been up to bat so far! He is adorable in the outfield trying so hard to pay attention... but gets a little distracted sometimes.

During one of the practices he and a friend were getting bored out there waiting for someone to hit the ball, so they started playing in the dirt. Finally a ball was hit to him. He ran to get the ball, but before he could scoop it up, he had to dump all the dirt out of his glove! The coach said, "Man, that's embarrassing."
The last couple of games Andrew got to be the catcher! He really enjoys it and is pretty good at it too! He does a much better job focusing on the game when he knows that the ball is coming to him! (Picture is at the top of the post... I'm not very good at posting the pictures where I want them yet) Andrew is also pretty tough! The last game the ball bounced off the base funny and smacked him right in the face! What a blessing helmets are! He acted fazed for a split second them grabbed the ball and threw it back to the picture like nothing happened.

I loved the pictures! What a great little ball player! It looks like he's inherited his Dad's athletic ability! Way to go, Andrew!!!

Becky, can you sign me (and the rest of the family, too) up to get emails when you post something new on your blog?

I'm not sure how to do that, but I'll try to get Allison to teach me. :-)
